Depression
There are many different reasons why someone could be feeling depressed but sometimes you could be feeling some of these symptoms for no obvious reason.
We all experience times in our life when our mood is low, we can feel sad or miserable but these feelings usually pass in time.
However if low mood lasts for a long time and starts to affect your every day life or if you have regular periods of feeling low, this could be a sign of depression. Depression can be mild, moderate or severe and the treatment offered depends on the symptoms that you are currently experiencing.
Here are a few common signs of depression
* Low confidence/ low self esteem
* Feeling isolated
* Feeling hopeless
* Feeing tearful
* Feeling empty
* Feeling numb
* A sense of despair
* Irritable
* Avoiding social events
* Foggy head
* A lost interest in sex
* Sleeping too much or having trouble sleeping
* No appetite or increased appetite
* Using alcohol or drugs more than usual
* Self harm
* Suicidal thoughts or behaviour
